New Scotland Yard
The administrative centre of the Metropolitan police Service (MPS) since 1967. The building is home to the world famous 'revolving sign' that almost always features in any news bulletin or TV show about London's police. This is a favourite spot for visiting police officers from other forces to take photographs and video footage. In light of the recent terrorist outrages and the heightened security around such locations, is no longer possible for casual visitors to gain access to the Back Hall (reception area of the building without an appointment.
Nearest Tube/train stations: St James' Park (opposite) or Westminster (five minute walk) via District & Circle lines, or Victoria (ten minutes walk) via District, Circle, Victoria or South West trains (via mainline station).
