Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund

Run from its office in Putney the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund provides vital help for hundreds of children, their surviving parents and carers each year.

The Orphans Fund as it is known came into being on the 31st July 1937; it is a registered charity whose aim is shown as "To relieve necessitous orphans of members of the Metropolitan and City Police Forces".

Philip Cronin, Secretary of the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund, said donations have assisted thousands of children since the fund was established in 1937. Support is available to children whose police parent is deceased or incapacitated through injury or illness to the extent they are unable to contribute materially to the family. Money is given in the form of allowances to support eligible children until they leave full-time education or for longer periods in the case of mentally or otherwise severely disabled children.

To make a donation contact Phillip Cronin, Secretary of the Fund at the following address: -

30, Hazlewell Road
